"Cold Porcelain is the common name given to art made from unfired porcelain compounds. Unfired porcelian is not fired in a kiln like traditional porcelain products. It is designed to be formed into the desired shape and then air dried. The qualities inherent in unfired porcelain compounds allow artisans to create many different replicas with amazing life-like detail. Each petal and leaf is hand-formed from paper-thin South American style cold porcelain. It is then put together one petal at a time and then hand-painted with a satin or glossy finish. Cold porcelain is fragile, as is real porcelain. Cold Porcelain when properly treated, will last a life-time."
